Treasurers' Learning Network

Treasurers’ Learning Network

The Treasurers’ Learning Network supports the financial health and sustainability of Triratna centres. It is open to anyone involved in finance at their centre, including treasurers, finance officers, trustees, and others supporting financial management.

The network consists of six online sessions (approximately two hours each), bringing together people involved in finance from across the movement. Each session includes input on selected topics, alongside time to share experience, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

The aim is to strengthen practical skills – such as bookkeeping, financial reporting, and governance – and to create a space where participants can connect, reflect on shared challenges, and develop confidence in their role.

Helpdesk support

Alongside the sessions, there is a light-touch helpdesk for questions that arise between meetings.

Participants can email the facilitator for brief guidance, clarification on financial or governance issues, or signposting to relevant resources and examples from other centres. The intention is not to provide full advisory support, but to offer timely, practical help and connect people with existing experience across the network.

About the facilitator

Jnanadeva has been involved in supporting the financial life of Triratna centres for a number of years, including serving as Treasurer at the London Buddhist Centre. He has also worked with a range of centres and projects across the movement, including Cambridge Buddhist Centre, West London Buddhist Centre, the Guhyaloka Trust, and Radical Embrace.

He brings practical experience of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and governance, alongside an interest in how centres can develop sustainable and well-functioning financial systems over time.

He is particularly interested in creating spaces where those involved in finance can share experience, learn from one another, and feel more confident and supported in their roles.
